winter wonderland – christmas in AUSTRIA

i decided that i will fly back to austria to visit my friends and family for a bit. kai said he will join me so after the vipassana course and two nights were we did couchsurfing in the big and busy city mumbai it was time to make our way to the airport for our long journey to europe.

GOA – am i really in INDIA ?!

my travels from hopset to GOA was by far the most fancy travel i had done in a long time. i booked an overnight sleeping-bus for tourists because it was the first time that i am travelling alone as a woman in india and a lot of people told me that i should always make sure that i am safe.
the bus left at 8 pm from hospet and arrived at 8 am in mapusa, GOA. i slept pretty much the whole time, i woke up a few times for a couple of minutes because of a speed bump or because i almost fall out off the bunk-bed when the bus was driving fast around a corner but thats it. i got a cold in the morning because there was aircon in the bus. i much prefer taking the local sleeping class in a train here in india but now i know better.

DHAMMA – the law of nature

before i came to india i had two goals for my stay there:
i wanted to do a yoga training and i also wanted to attend another vipassana meditation course. i already did one in new zealand but unfortunately i hardly practiced the meditation anymore so i wanted to do another course to get back in a good routine. i chose india as country because its a meditation technique which started in india many years ago. before we came to india we applied for a vipassana course and we didn’t get an answer the next month so we thaught the course is already full. taking a bath in holy waterfalls – HAMPI

we catched the bus from KR nagar where we did a workaway-job to the next city called mysore. our train was leaving mysore in the evening so we had a view hours to kill.
there is a huge palace in the middle of the centre so we decided to have a walk around there. at the entrance there was a sign that we had to pay to get into the temple.
kai and i are both not the biggest fans of tourist attractions where you have to pay. the man at the counter told us that we can go in for free because he saw us discussing before. the palace is huge and very pretty.

volunteering on an organic farm in the middle of nowhere – SOUTH INDIA

we finally left the citylife after 5 days and caught a metro and a bus down south to our new workaway place which was close to mysor, in a place called KR nagar.
the metros in bangalore were really fancy and you even have to go through a security check to enter the metro-station. in the metros there are power-plugs and it looks like it could be somewhere in europe.

the bus down to mysor took us around 4 hours and the road was pretty terrible. speedbumps everywhere and the busdriver didnt really slow down before they came so we flew through the air all the time. Continue reading

celebrating DIWALI in india – CRAZY CITYLIFE

this time we tried a new airline for our flight to india. the airline is called spiceyet and the flight number was SG2. it sounded like a fake-airline and we were both not sure if this airline really exists.

our flight was at 2 am in the morning from sri lanka and it took us only 2 hours until we arrived in chennai, india. i slept the whole flight luckily because normally i can never sleep in planes.

i tried to buy a sim card on the airport in india but everything was closed because it was 5 in the morning and it was diwali, which is a big festival of lights in india and the people celebrate it like we celebrate christmas back home. it is an important day here in india! Continue reading
